The Cannelli Book

John Karpel of New Haven recently discovered an original of the 1921 “La Colonia di Italiana di New Haven”, edited and printed by Antonio Cannelli.  Our group has taken this book and reprinted it, selling over 100 since our group’s inception.

This book, now over 100 years old,  starts with the story of the New Haven colony, which Antonio Cannelli translated into Italian, and then goes on to catalog the impact Italian immigrants were making on New Haven at the time. In the front and back, the book also features ads for Italian businesses, some of which are still around today.

Frank Carrano Monthly Column
